Friday 26 June 2020 – Diseworth Blues Club
Grace & Aaron Bond of When Rivers Meet are a Blues + Roots Rock duo from Essex.
Their soulful vocals lock into harmony with a natural chemistry: Aaron’s bold, driven guitar is grounded by his solid kick drum, and Grace’s unique slide mandolin and fiddle combine to create a wall of sound.
With a combination of well-crafted self-penned songs and reworked traditionals, performances are fearless.
We have Helen to thank for this booking. At this year’s Rock and Blues Festival at Butlins, Skegness, When Rivers Meet were scheduled to play Hotshots at the same time as Nine Below Zero were due to play Reds and Mud Morganfield, son of Muddy Waters, was playing at the Centre Stage. Helen insisted we go and see When Rivers Meet rather than the more established acts playing at the same time and are we pleased we did! When Rivers Meet were just great and they nailed their set to a packed appreciative Hotshots. We had a chat with them immediately after their performance and firmed up the booking for Friday 26th June 2020 shortly afterwards.Their reveiws are fabulous, extracts from two are given below
“..the performances are exemplary, the sound is magnificent, the songs are gorgeous. I love the drama. I love everything.” – Chris Kimsey, Rolling Stones Record Producer
“The chemistry between their voices is palpable.” – Simon Redley, Music Republic Magazine
There cannot be many better ways of spending a Summer Evening.
